I recently visited the India Seashell Museum located in Mamallapuram, Chennai, India. It was divided into four sections: Mini Asia, Mineral Museum, Pearl Museum and Fish Story. It was an exciting place!
Mini Asia
It consists of models of the splendours of Asia, Such as:
- The Gardens by the Bay (Singapore)
- Merlion of Singapore
- The Great Wall of China
The model of the Merlion was made up of about 1500 seashells!

Mineral Museum
Consists of samples of various minerals, including precious ones. My eyes shined at the sight of them!

Seashell Museum
K. Raja Mohamed, who founded the India Seashell Museum, devoted 33 years of his and his hard-earned money to collect different varieties of seashells from almost all over the world!

There are totally four galleries, each gallery consisting of more than a thousand shells! š

I saw all these shells in person and clicked pictures of them. These are some of those pictures.
Fish Story
It consists of different varieties of fish in different tanks. A fish massage is also available. (It is very rare)

Pearl Museum
A natural pearl (often called an Oriental pearl) forms when an irritant works its way into a particular species of oyster, mussel, or clam. As a defence mechanism, the mollusc secretes a fluid to coat the irritant. Layer upon layer of this coating is deposited on the irritant until a lustrous pearl is formed.
